KBS's 2004 melodrama April Kiss explores love's many dimensions and possibilities. Soo Ae (9 End 2 Outs) plays Chae Won, a gentle hard-working art instructor who finds herself torn between her first love Jung Woo (Lee Jung Jin, 9 End 2 Outs) and her current fiancé Jae Sup (Jo Han Sun, Now and Forever). The two men in her life couldn't be more different: Jung Woo is a freeloader who indulges in life's pleasures whilst Jae Sup is an ambitious career-driven go-getter with surprising romantic flair. Contrary to Soo Aeh's serene character is So Yi Hyun (Revenge) who plays an outgoing, carefree, and spirited woman with no trust in men thanks to her philandering father.
Happy-go-lucky Chae Won (Soo Ae) cherishes her two pet sparrows, which she got from her first love Jung Woo (Lee Jung Jin) when they were in junior high. Not only do these birds remind her of the good old days, but they also bring back sweet memories and the innocence of her childhood love. But all of that is in the past as Chae Won now basks in romantic bliss with her fiancé Jae Sup (Jo Han Sun) whom she has liked since the day they first met in junior high. Despite his poor background, Jae Sup always ranked first in the class and now has a successful career as a top manager at a big corporation. His tenacity and charisma give assurance to Chae Won, but when Jung Woo reappears in her life, Chae Won is swept into confusion. Adding to the drama is Jin Ah (So Yi Hyun), the daughter of a wealthy tycoon who falls in love with Jung Woo.
