Employee of the Month is a 2004 American black comedy starring Matt Dillon and Christina Applegate.
Plot
David Walsh (Dillon) is a bank employee whose day begins badly when he gets fired from his dream job and dumped by his fiancée Sara Goodwin (Applegate). He then goes back into the bank with a gun in his waist band. Using his connections within the bank, he makes it into his previous boss' office, where he pulls out the gun. The boss calls him out and Walsh puts down the gun and steps back out into the bank to find it being robbed.
A sequence shows him killing the robbers single-handedly, but this was shown to be a day-dream and he gets down. When the robbers take Wendy (Andrea Bendewald), he stands up to them and saves her, but he gets shot. The robbers push him into the getaway vehicle and drive off.
A montage shows various people's reactions after the incident, including his ex-fiancée, who is crying uncontrollably. It then shows a burning van, with a reporter stating that following dental records, it was proven to be Walsh's body.
As the film comes to and end, there are several plot twists, which include betrayal, lesbianism, a shady dentist, and an unlucky housemaid.
