it is a simple and touching story of friendship and young love. the two leading characters are 12 year-olds in the story as i recall. it is set in the 70's, but apart from the occasional car from that era and technology, it isnt that relevant or noticeable. i dont want to give too much of the story away, but it has been compared to "Sekai no Chuushin" (which i havent seen). so i would expect if you like that one you will this one too.
Taro a 12-year-old boy hospitalized in a small seaside town, brings a bit of levity into the lives of the other patients by acting as resident DJ. Starring Ryunosuke Kamiki, “Little DJ†is a compelling drama with great music from the 70’s.
Set in 1977, Little DJ tells the story of a little boy named Taro who is stuck in a Hokkaido hospital due to a blood condition. The hospital director decides to let him take over the hospital-wide radio station on a temporary basis and Taro takes full advantage, spinning pop tunes and endearing himself to most of the other patients and staff. One day a 13-year-old girl named Tamaki is admitted to the hospital and the two of them spend a lot of time together. Unfortunately as they start to fall in love his condition takes a turn for the worse.
