Top Gear South Koreais a South Korean adaptation of BBC's popularTop Gearshow. Top Gear South Korea was officially announced on the 21st of June 2011. The show follows a similar format with the British version and includes 3 presenters: singer and professional driver Kim Jin-Pyo (김진표) and actor Yun Jung Hoon (연정훈). Actor Kim Kap-su (김갑수) also has starred but he will be replaced by Jo Min-gi (조민기), an actor, from the second season according to the announcement from the channel.The first episode aired late August 2011, and was produced using similar methods to the originalTop Gear.Met with both positive and negative reviews, the show had a peak rating of 1.28% of viewers which XTM considers to be quite good.
The show uses a circuit in Ansan city, which is not used for racing but just for tests and social events, as the main test facility and the Power Lap Time track. Korean International Circuit , the venue of Korean Grand Prix and Taebaek Racing Park are used for some episodes.
The second season has been aired from 8 April 2012.
